Kidderminster pushed struggling Crawley Town deeper into the relegation mire after a 1-0 victory at the Aggborough Stadium.
Simon Russell's solitary strike midway through the first half settled the closely fought contest which could have produced more goals but for some wayward finishing by both sets of teams.
David Woozley should have earned the Red Devils a share of the spoils but contrived to head over from a very promising position.
Having said that, it could have been worse for Crawley had Johnny Mullins and Andy White's efforts not gone narrowly wide, while James Hollins' men had goalkeeper Phil Smith to thank for thwarting Gavin Hurren late in the second half.
Crawley remain second from the bottom, two points adrift of safety, but having played a game less than Tamworth who are one place above them in the Conference table.

Canvey 1 - 0 Crawley Canvey Island picked up a much needed three points at the expense of relegation threatened Crawley Town at Park Lane on Saturday afternoon.
Canvey's Jason Hallett came close to scoring in the 17th minute but saw his 12-yard effort tipped around the post by Crawley keeper Phil Smith.
The hosts got their breakthrough in the 52nd minute when Dominic Sterling headed in a Jeff Minton cross from the left wing.
After collecting all of the points, Canvey open up a 10 point gap between themselves and Crawley Town. The visitors are in a dire situation as they're just two points above bottom-of-the-table Southport.
